The Design Process

I believe that unique, stylish and high quality custom clothing should be accessible to everyone. My aim is to work within an individual's budget and lifestyle to meet their fashion needs by providing an affordable alternative to mass produced clothing.

The design process begins with a consultation. We will discuss your clothing wants and needs, personal style, timeline and budget. Projects can range from a basic everyday garment to a detailed special occasion piece. My methods of garment design and construction vary depending on the project. In some instances, a preliminary pattern is made, followed by a mock up and then the final garment. Other pieces are made via a more freehand draping technique or using a pre-existing loved garment as a foundation or inspiration.

Your level of involvement in the garment making process is up to you, from initial design to the finishing touches. If you would like to learn how a garment is made, lessons can accompany each step, or I can assist you in the creation of your own garment from start to finish. Most importantly, all steps in the process will be tailored to your needs.
